James has been working on a zombie book as a side project when he stalls on
his main series, this book is actually going to be based where James lives in the Okanagan Valley and follows actual details of landmarks and specific buildings. So if you’re into zombies this will be a real treat for you, here’s a clip of one of the parts:
A throaty growl was all the warning he got before something grabbed his leg and pulled. Dante threw himself forward in sheer desperation to free his leg before it was too late. He scrambled onto his back and kicked at the snapping teeth that crawled hastily towards him from under the semi. But it barely
slowed the fiends advance. Dante’s eyes glanced at his axe resting against the side and he cursed knowing it would do him no good. A shot rang out and the walker collapsed in a rotting pile at his feet. A light wafting of smoke rose from the barrel of his 9mm. “Damn it that was close.” He sighed looking down the length of the truck to see two more walkers running towards him. “Shit!” Dante scrambled to his feet and fired two more shots. The first walker went down the back of its head painting the truck trailer, the second kept coming the bullet hitting it high in the shoulder. Another shot and it too crumpled to the
concrete. But already he could hear more movement from beyond the truck and knew he would likely be overrun if he tried to stand and fight. He grabbed his pack from inside the truck and snatched up his axe as several more undead fiends came into view. He didn’t waste any more time and took off down the road as fast as his legs would carry him.
(There has yet to be a release date set for this book as James is still in
the writing process.)
