who am i?
My name is James Fuller. I have been an author for over 15 years, with 15 books out now and many more to come. I have also read over 1000 books in my life and hope to add many more to that list. No, none of this is bragging, just putting it out there since you are here wondering if I am the right guy to create your blurb.
The blurb
The back of the book blurb is a very important and key element to your book. It is one of the first two steps for a reader to decide if they are even interested in reading your book. The cover is the first, of course. But after that, after your cover catches their eye, they go straight to the blurb to see if it is a story they would be interested in. This is where you need to wow them with something that gives them a taste of what is to come.
this is where i come in
A lot of people struggle with writing these. A LOT of authors do, so if you are one of them, don’t feel bad. It’s okay. Sometimes we are too close to the work and can’t filter things down because there is so much we want to say about it that distilling it into 200 to 400 words is near impossible. I get it, and I see it all the time. But you’re in luck because this just so happens to be something I am really good at, and I actually enjoy doing it.
what i need from you
To answer your first question, no, I do not need to read your whole book to do this. If that were the case, I would have to charge way more than I do simply for the time it would take alone. Thankfully, I don’t need to do that to create your perfect blurb.
What I do need is a general synopsis from you. A general story/plot/character arc. It doesn’t have to be anything over the top detailed or fancy, though any important details or elements you want me to try to add would be good to be in there.
From here, I will ask some follow-up questions. This normally is half a dozen to three dozen questions about the story or characters or situations the story deals with. These are fine-tuning details for me and to give me just that little extra meat to work with. Let’s me connect a little more with the story so I can sense which direction to go with to get the right feel for how the blurb should sound.
After that, I put something together and send it to you to inspect. You read it over, see what you like, don’t like, what you want to be changed and tweaked. You let me know, and I work my magic some more and send it back, and we do this until you are happy with the end result.
I also re-write and breathe new life into old blurbs that you have already written. So if you have a blurb on your book already, but it just doesn’t feel like it is doing the book justice, contact me. I will work my magic and create something that stands out for your book.

but how much will this cost?
Not as much as you might fear.
I charge between $30 and $40 USD to do this for you.
And you don’t pay until you are happy with what I have done.
